Do I have to move my furniture for Carpet Cleaning?
Not necessarily. Since we charge by the square foot of cleanable area, you are only paying for the carpet that actually gets cleaned.
Because of that, we typically do not move heavy furniture such as beds, dressers, or large entertainment centers. Those areas simply aren’t included in the cleanable square footage and frankly those area’s are not dirty. However if you have a reason you need heavy furniture moved like pet urine under a bad we can discuss it when you call for an initial consultation.
We do ask customers to move smaller items like chairs, lamps, and breakables before we arrive. During your initial consultation we’ll go over the areas you want cleaned and explain exactly how the cleanable space will be measured so there are no surprises once we are in the home.
Can you really fix bleach spots? My last cleaner told me the spots were permanent stains.
Bleach spots are not actually stains. What bleach does is remove the color (dye) from the carpet fibers, which is why the spots look lighter than the surrounding carpet. Because the color has been removed, normal cleaning will not fix the problem.
In many cases, though, the color can be carefully restored using a carpet dyeing process. This involves matching the original carpet color and applying dye to the affected areas so the spots blend back into the surrounding carpet.
Not every bleach spot can be made completely invisible, but in many situations the improvement is dramatic and far less expensive than replacing the carpet.
