Lehigh Rug performed carpet and hardwood cleaning and conditioning for me at a new property I purchased. They were responsive (returns calls immediately), timely (only a few days between quoting and service), and did fantastic work at about 1/10th the cost of replacing all my flooring (which was my only other option because they were so dirty and damaged).
Great staff! Professional, reasonably priced, and did a wonderful job. I’ll definitely use them again!

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best method of carpet cleaning?
Steam cleaning is the best method for carpet cleaning. Just like washing clothes it is important to have both detergent and water to break down dirt and stains. However not all steam carpet cleaning is the same. While most carpet cleaners just bring the wand in and scrub Lehigh Rug Service sprays our solution down then uses a buffer to help break up the dirt. This is very important as you don’t want to leave detergent behind as it both causes rugs to get dirty quicker but works to break down the fibers faster so your rugs don’t last as long.
This makes sense as every washing machine uses a rinse cycle. Lehigh Rug takes the extra time to make sure your rugs get cleaner and stay cleaner longer!
How are carpets professionally cleaned?
There are many methods on the market of cleaning carpets but steam cleaning is by far the best method and the most popular choice of professional cleaners. Lehigh Rug goes the extra mile and sprays the solution down separately and uses a buffer to help break down dirt and stain so that when we do our steam cleaning we are removing both the dirt and the detergent helping your carpets to stay clean longer!
How much does it cost to have carpet professionally cleaned?
When you call us we work up an estimated range based on price per square foot of “cleanable area. So if you have furniture that will not be moved that square footage will be removed from your price. Once the cleaning team arrives they will measure and give you the final price to clean. 90% of the time we find the range we give includes the final price!
How much does it cost to deep clean a carpet?
Please see above as Steam cleaning is deep cleaning.
How do you estimate how many square feet I have to be cleaned?
When you call we will ask for your address and what areas you want to have cleaned. Then we will look up your home using MLS data and based on the total square footage of the house and the areas need to be cleaned come up with your estimate! So if you have added a room since you bought the house make sure to tell us.
Is it worth having carpets professionally cleaned?
Yes very much so. Portable cleaners are good for spot cleaning but do not do deep cleaning like professional cleaners do. It is very important to have rugs deep steam cleaned at minimum once every three years. Once you get past 3 years any savings you think you are getting on cleaning you lose by having the dirt that is in the rug wearing out the fibers and causing you to need to replace them sooner.
What do carpet cleaners use to get rugs clean?
At Lehigh Rug we use an emulsifier that helps separate dirt and raise it to the top. We go the extra mile and buff it in and then steam extract it. We do not use toxic or harsh chemicals in our regular carpet cleaning solution. We have stronger products for extra dirty areas but again we use the buffer to do the hardest work.
How long does carpet cleaning last?
This depends on many factors. The one we at Lehigh rug can control is we do not leave detergents behind but do a true rinse cycle at the end. Most carpet cleaners do leave detergent behind because it is quicker to clean that way. By taking out the detergent we ensure your carpets stay clean longer.
What do professional carpet cleaners use to get urine out of rugs?
Unfortunately there is no guaranteed way to ensure that urine will be completely removed from rugs as often the urine has gone down into the padding and can’t be removed. However there are two different levels of Urine deodorizer. Both have enzymes that eat organic material and are not just masking agents and can greatly reduce pet smells. Those are an extra charge for the really deeply soaked in urine.
Should I use resolve or other over the counter cleaners on my carpet?
Professional cleaning solutions sometimes react poorly with over the counter products and it can cause spotting that won’t come out. It can also bleach the colors out of rugs. If you want to treat pet urine we recommend mixing a little white vinegar with club soda and blotting the area with a towel or rag a few times instead.
